Your skin barrier remains intact, and you avoid pain or harsh side effects!
When you come to Pur for a SaltFacial, it can help a number of skin concerns. This treatment can Improve the appearance of acne, redness, age spots, sun damage, fine lines, and wrinkles. And when you get multiple treatments, the improvement will be even more significant! Once a month for three to six sessions, then maintain your results with periodic treatments.
II. What is a Salt Facial?
A SaltFacial is a way to renew your skin and the underlying tissue. We are so passionate about this treatment because it is rooted in so much research and evidence. We know that exfoliation helps, we know that aesthetic ultrasound can help skin, and we know LED phototherapy is great for skin. The combination, though, creates results we almost can’t believe.
Each 45-minute treatment has three distinct parts:
-
The first step is exfoliation. During this step, we actually apply organic sea salt to your skin. The handpiece of our machine has technology that cleanses and exfoliates.
-
The second step uses ultrasound technology to improve the underlying tissue. We are able to passively infuse skin with nutrients specific to what you need. The infusions are able to reach the dermis layer. This is in contrast to other facials, which typically only reach the epidermis (the outmost layer).
-
Our last step is LED light therapy, which smooths skin, helps reduce inflammation, and generally increases collagen production. The LED we use has multiple modes and types of lights, so we can make sure you get the full benefit. Some LED therapy is done with only red light or only blue light. We have amber, blue, red, and near-infrared LEDs.
When you consider the three steps, it’s easy to see why this technology is adaptable to everyone. If you’re a teen struggling with acne, all the way through an adult with redness, or maybe you’re aging and have fine lines…everyone benefits from exfoliation, tissue and lymph health, and collagen production.
The Benefits Of SaltFacials
Not only is a SaltFacial relaxing and luxurious, but your skin and deeper tissue will benefit. And you should know this technology can be used on your face, neck, decolletage, and your whole body. We love SaltFacial for abdominal stretch marks or acne scars on the chest or back. Evidence shows that this technology cleans, exfoliates, balances oil production, reduces inflammation from a number of sources, and promotes collagen production.
Collagen helps make the skin plump, healthy, and radiant. The SaltFacial is able to do that without redness, harsh chemicals, or downtime. The SaltFacial helps deeper than your skin: it can promote increased circulation and lymph drainage. Imagine having your skin oxygenated from deep within (from increased blood flow) and purifying (lymph works to keep tissue healthy!).
Other facials are skin deep (literally!), and this is so much more.
The Salt Facial Experience In Granger, Indiana
We love having our medspa in the South Bend Area. There’s no place we’d rather be! And we are so excited to bring this technology to South Bend. Midwest weather can be tough on the skin. It is cold and windy all winter, but the summer is so hot. This change in temperature makes it hard for your skin to stay balanced and even…enter the SaltFacial. Our client Andrea recently said, “I have tried so many treatments at Pur and can honestly say this is the one I am most excited for. It just makes my skin gorgeous, and I love that I don’t have to worry about redness or peeling.”
Did you know Pur Aesthetics and Wellness was voted “Best Medspa” 2022 Best of the Best South Bend? We combine skilled staff, cutting-edge technology, a beautiful space, and, of course, the best clients anyone could want! If you’ve been curious about medical aesthetics or maybe you’re hesitant to try injectables or microneedling, start with a SaltFacial.
Preparing For Your SaltFacial
When you’re coming to see us for a SaltFacial, you should do a little “prep work.” We would love to suggest these steps:
-
Cleanse your face: Start with a gentle cleanser to remove any makeup, dirt, or impurities from your skin. This will ensure that the SaltFacial can work effectively.
-
Avoid exfoliation: It’s generally recommended to avoid any other forms of exfoliation, such as chemical exfoliants or abrasive scrubs, for a few days before your SaltFacial. This will prevent over-exfoliation and potential skin irritation.
-
Communicate allergies or sensitivities: If you have any known allergies or sensitivities to specific ingredients or products, please let us know!
-
Hydrate: It’s always beneficial to hydrate your body and skin before any facial treatment. Drink plenty of water (but we suggest you do this every day, anyways).
When you come in, your appointment will last about 45 minutes. The SaltFacial uses positive pressure on your face at times, but don’t worry; there is no pain. Then when you leave, you will be glowing. Other treatments might leave you red or with a few days of downtime, but not the SaltFacial.
And then after your appointment? We can go over these steps in detail when you come in for your appointment, but there are a few steps we want you to follow after your appointment too.
-
Avoid touching or picking at your skin: It’s essential to refrain from touching or picking at your skin to prevent introducing bacteria or causing irritation.
-
Protect your skin from the sun: It’s crucial to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with an appropriate SPF to shield your skin from sun damage. This is important even if you’ll be spending time indoors or if it’s a cloudy day.
-
Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your body and skin hydrated. Proper hydration helps maintain healthy skin and supports its natural healing process.
-
Follow any additional instructions: Depending on your specific skin type and concerns, we might provide you with additional instructions or recommendations for post-facial care. Be sure to follow these guidelines for optimal results.
Frequently Asked Questions About SaltFacial Treatments
A lot of our clients ask the same questions, and you know we’re passionate about education! So let’s clarify here:
Will a salt facial hurt? No, a salt facial shouldn’t hurt. As we’ve mentioned, the gentle application of a salt-based solution to your face is followed by rinsing and moisturizing. You may feel some tingling or mild sensation during the treatment; it should not be painful. If there is discomfort or pain during a salt facial, let us know! We can adjust the procedure or products to ensure your comfort.
How do I know if a SaltFacial is right for me? If you have skin, the SaltFacial is right for you! We mean it. There are so many people of all ages and all skin concerns that benefit from the combination of sea salt, medical ultrasound, and LED therapy.
What if I am coming in for another service? Could I add a SaltFacial to my visit? Most of the time, the answer is yes! We have combined SaltFacials with many other treatments, like microneedling with PRP or filler and tox injections. Combine with microneedling, RF, light-based therapies, PRP, exosome therapy, and/or topical treatments to promote faster healing, reduce downtime, and improve outcomes.
If you have other questions or are excited to get started, don’t hesitate to call our office or drop us a line on our website. We would love to discuss how we might work together!
